Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising collaboration that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden practices and monstrous changes resonate through the shadows." The plot presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine cult.
The mission focuses on "strange experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses
The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Features
Players who finish the adventure will acquire an unique katana together with numerous objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's latest free story content, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime franchises. The series earlier included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
