The winter transfer market proves to be a time of intense rumour and potential big-money deals. Several notable players find themselves connected to moves out of their current clubs. We examine a selection of the top names who could be on the move in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Although the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, which has left the player in contention, reports suggest a major move is close. This Bournemouth attacker possesses a contract with a substantial release clause active for a two-week period in early January. Latest developments indicate Manchester City have emerged as his services. Former interested parties like Chelsea and Tottenham are said to have turned their attention to other targets, leaving clubs such as Manchester United or Liverpool to attempt a late move.

M. Guéhi

The England defender has continued to impress for Palace despite a summer move to Anfield falling through. As his contract due to expire in the close season, January is the London club's final chance to obtain a transfer fee for their captain. A host of top clubs, including Manchester City and multiple continental powerhouses like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, reportedly hold an interest. Yet, a January departure is considered unlikely, especially given the coach's reliance on the player.

Brennan Johnson

The Wales winger has found first-team minutes hard to come by at Spurs this campaign. Despite finishing as the side's top scorer the previous campaign, he has started only a small number of league matches. Reports suggest the North London club would be open to a sale for the right price, thought to be in the region of forty million pounds. The Cherries appear to be at the front of the queue, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace additionally credited with an inquiry.

Tottenham rate the Welsh international at around forty million pounds.

Rúben Neves

The Portuguese playmaker might be set for a comeback to the English top flight following a period in Saudi Arabia. Now just twenty-eight, and with his contract ending in the summer of 2026, he is a possible bargain. Clubs such as Manchester United and Liverpool have been connected to the player. Furthermore, there have been rumours from Spanish media that he is prepared to accept a pay cut for a move to the Spanish giants.

Marc-André ter Stegen

This experienced Germany goalkeeper finds himself as third-choice at Barcelona following new manager Flick. After lost his place and had an operation, a January departure looks highly likely. Villa were once linked as a potential destination, but that move currently seems off. Instead, clubs from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are reportedly expressing curiosity in the 33-year-old.

The Turin club are eager to secure the 20-year-old to a lengthy agreement but face a race to retain one of the continent's most promising prospects.

Kees Smit

The highly-touted Netherlands midfielder has drawn parallels to Kevin De Bruyne for his style of play. Following impressing at the U19 Euros, he has become a regular in the AZ side. The teenager is heavily expected to make a big-money transfer in January.
